Marjorie Mayida
Marjorie Mayida is the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Old Mutual Investment Group Zimbabwe (Private) Limited. She has 25 years of expertise in the financial services industry, specialising in investment research and analysis, investment appraisals, corporate structuring, property development, and investment management, all of which she gained while working with Old Mutual in Zimbabwe and across the region. Under her leadership, OMIG has successfully delivered a diverse suite of investment solutions to the Zimbabwean market, including several commercial property developments and several energy plants in the country. Resultantly, OMIG has won various accolades in the financial markets industry, including The Best Performing Asset Management Company and Best Real Estate Fund, awarded by Capital Markets Indaba.
Marjorie holds a degree in Business Studies and Computer Science from the University of Zimbabwe, an MBA from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) a certificate in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management with UNISA, Sustainable Investing Certificate with CFA Institute, and a Certificate in Management Advancement Programme with Wits University. In addition, she has participated in several professional programs.
Davies Musoso
Davies Musoso heads the Alternative Investments Boutique, with over 12 years of experience in investment research and fund management. He holds a degree in Business Studies and Computer Science (HBSCT) and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe.
Davies oversees portfolio management and monitoring of private equity investments for the Old Mutual Group and third-party pension funds. He has been instrumental in establishing robust workflow guidelines, risk frameworks, and financial systems for the evaluation and valuation of alternative investments. He drives the long- and medium-term strategy for the boutique, spearheading growth in funds under management. His role includes managing deal flow, leading due diligence processes to international standards, and coordinating stakeholders across transactions.
Davies is currently studying to attain his CFA charter.
Gilbert Mangwere
Gilbert Mangwere is a highly experienced investment professional with over 20 years in the financial services industry, specializing in portfolio management, investment research, and client advisory across multiple asset classes. As Head of Research at Old Mutual Investment Group Zimbabwe, he leads strategic equity research initiatives, manages a team of analysts, and engages directly with investee companies and institutional clients to drive informed investment decisions.
His expertise spans macroeconomic analysis, fixed income strategy, and equity valuation, underpinned by a strong track record in managing institutional portfolios and delivering consistent performance. He is known for his strong analytical skills, strategic foresight, and ability to translate complex market dynamics into actionable investment strategies.
Gilbert holds an honours degree in Finance from the National University of Science and Technology.
Stephen Kapfunde
Stephen Kapfunde heads the Old Mutual Property Boutique and has more than 25 years’ experience in Real Estate. He has carried out work in Zimbabwe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
Stephen holds a BSc in Estate Management from the University of Reading (England) and an MSc in Construction Project Management from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Zimbabwe. In addition, he is a Chartered Surveyor in Commercial property practice with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Registered Valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as well as a Registered Valuer with the Zimbabwe Valuers Council.
Chengetai Zvobgo
Chengetai has hands-on experience in investment strategy, analysis, and client relationship management, having served for 21 years in the asset management industry. He holds a Master's in Business Administration (Finance) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Mathematics, among other qualifications. He joined OMIG in 2017, having previously served in two other asset management firms in Zimbabwe. His current role involves the formulation and implementation of investment strategies for listed equity investments
Chengetai is currently in his second term as the Chairman of the Association of Investment Managers of Zimbabwe, a role that has allowed him to interact with key stakeholders in the industry and further deepen his understanding of the regulatory framework
Tawanda Zuze
Tawanda has extensive experience as an economist and investment analyst, specializing in monetary economics, policy analysis and strategy formulation. Beginning his career at Old Mutual as a Graduate Trainee, he quickly advanced through the ranks, driven by analytical rigor and leadership capability. Prior to joining Old Mutual, he interned with the Policy Research, Modelling and Publications Department of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
Tawanda holds an MSc in Economics and a Master's in Finance and Investments. He is a firm believer in Kaizen principles and game theory.
